As the train approaches Cuauhtemoc, one begins to realize the fun is just beginning.

Note the thickening of the forest on the hill behind this log cabin, or barn.  In just a few minutes we will be in canyon country. 

 

 

 

A modern Mexican city, Cuauhtemoc is really the entrance to the Sierra Madres and the last city of any size you will find until you get to the end of the line at Los Mochis.
