Brief Stay in Chihuahua, Mexico
My penchant for finding the coldest sleeping accommodations available reached a pinnacle with the Hotel Roma in Ciudad Chihuahua that night. This hotel did have hot water, but, once again, no heater, and to make matters worse there was an absolutely huge and very drafty window directly above the head of the bed. I slept in my bluejean jacket with a muffler and gloves. The only thing I took off was my shoes.
I was finally running low on flash memory for the digital camera and only took this one picture of the room. Now if you can imagine walls and a floor which radiated cold similar to that in a refrigerator, and a lumpy, lopsided bed under the big window you get the picture perfectly.
The best I can say about the Hotel Roma is that it only cost $105 pesos. If you were traveling on the cheap in warmer months it would probably be just fine.
