Copper Canyon Travel
Points of Interest
El Divisadero, Mexico
El Divisadero offers a fantastic 9,000 foot view into the Copper Canyon, known as Barranca del Cobre. The train will stop in Divisadero for about 15-20 minutes to give you a view of the canyon and to shop at the crafts stands. You should have just enough time to grab some of the delicious burritos sold there for only $1 each and take them back on the train with you.
Most accounts describe expensive lodging in Divisadero, but two of the hotels have rooms overlooking the canyon itself and are reputed to have superb food and service. There is a huge balancing rock nearby and hiking trails around the canyon rim, but travellers are generally encouraged not to spend more than a night there because of the limited options available.
